Skilled Visas

Basic Requirements

• Below 45 years old
• Have an occupation that is on a state’s occupation list
• Have a positive skills assessment for the nominated occupation
• Have an Australian state that is willing to sponsor your application
• Score at least 65 points
• Have at least competent level of English

Note: Certain states have additional requirements also known as caveats, such as years of work experience, English test scores or job offers.

Basic Requirements

• Below 45 years old
• Have an occupation that is on the medium to long-term occupation list
• Be sponsored by an eligible relative OR Australian state/territory government agency
• Have a positive skills assessment for the nominated occupation
• Score at least 65 points
• Have at least competent level of English

Note: This is a 5 year Temporary Resident visa with a Permanent Residency pathway.

In order to qualify for PR, you must have lived and worked full-time (with annual salary of AUD 53,900) for at least 3 years in the regional area.

Post-Study Work Stream

• Below 50 years old
• Must have completed a Bachelor degree or higher
• Must have applied for your 1st student visa on or after 5 November 2011
• Must have held a student visa within the past 6 months before your application
• Must have met the 2-year Australian study requirement (Must be CRICOS recognised)
• Must have a certain level of English
• Visa duration is 2 to 4 years, depending on your degree level

Graduate Work Stream (1.5 years)

• Below 50 years old
• Must nominate an occupation on the medium and long-term list
• Must have completed a degree, diploma or trade qualification related to the nominated occupation
• Must have held a student visa within the past 6 months before your application
• Must have met the 2-year Australian study requirement (Must be CRICOS recognised)
• Must have a certain level of English
• Visa duration is 18 months

Basic Requirements

• No age limit
• Must be internationally recognised (in the past 2 years) with a record of achievement in any of the following:
  • profession
  • sport
  • arts
  • academics
• Must be able to contribute to Australia in your area of expertise
• Must prove work-finding capabilities and income in Australia
• Be nominated by an Australian resident or organisation with an appropriate reputation in the same field as you
• Have functional level of English
